Raisins:

Raisin is a dried grape. All grapes are however not suitable for making Raisins. The grapes which are very sweet are only selected for Raisins. Raisins belong to vitaceae family. In some countries of Europe , Australia and New Zealand the word Raisins is reserved for dark colored dried large grape and sultana being a golden colored dried grape. Raisins can contain up to 72 % sugars by weight most of which is fructose and glucose. Raisins do not have cholesterol and are very good for health. Raisins are sweet due to there high concentration of sugar.

Uses:

Raisins have various uses they can also be eaten raw . They are used in cooking, baking, brewing farsaan items, sweets etc.
